| La Manga is a beautiful part of Spain on its Eastern Costa Calida coast. La Manga is the area surrounding the Mar Menor, a salt water lagoon 21km long and 10 km wide. The La Manga "strip" is the peninsula between the Mediterranean and the Mar Menor. Both sides have beautiful beaches and excellent tourism facilities - something for everyone. The shallow (no more than 10 metres deep) Mar Menor lagoon is always several degrees warmer than the Mediterranean and is a paradise for water sports of all kinds and for those who want to swim or have fun in its crystal clear waters.
The area is served by two international airports, one in Alicante (El Altet - ALC, 1 hour drive) and the other (San Javier - MJV) which is only 20 minutes drive. Lots of low cost and scheduled airlines combined with excellent tourism facilities make La Manga a "must visit" Spanish tourism destination. |
